The refurbishment of the premises is now completed, and the relocation of If’s Helsinki metropolitan area operations has already proceeded to migration phase.
Two years ago, we first conducted a market survey on behalf of If. The number one option proved to be the Keilalampi property in Keilaniemi, next to the Fortum tower. In the autumn of 2019, If signed a long-term lease agreement including approximately 8,800 square meters of workspace, which would be completely renovated for the new tenant.
The renovation project was extensive and ambitious, because the workspace design, construction quality, chosen materials and a multitude of details must last far into the future. The new metropolitan area office is currently undergoing a WELL certification process that takes into account the operational activity in property as well as corporate HR policies and strategic leadership goals. The certification aims at holistic optimization of both working conditions, staff well-being and comfort. The main contractor for the renovation was YIT, and Ecorum acted as commercial and real estate advisor for the tenant.
“Ecorum’s expertise and active approach in negotiations and project work rose to a major role during the renovation and greatly contributed to the success of our entire project. The end result is what we aimed at, a state-of-the-art working environment, which meets the needs of our personnel holistically, far into the future. A large part of our personnel is still working remotely due to the pandemic, but we look forward to the autumn and getting together here at our brand new premises, says Pirjo Holmén, Head of Premises Finland at If P&C Insurance.”
